To win Animation Short Film Award
March 30th - April 18th for Submissions

AWARDS & JURIES

The culmination of the AfroAnimation Animation Short Film Award is our award ceremony taking place on Thursday, April 28th. Winning this award can be life changing for a filmmaker and can bring attention to the impactful diverse stories that might not have otherwise reached wider audiences. Short films are bestowed by our juries, made up of individuals with original and diverse points of view from the film community. Winning this contest not only brings a cash prize, but increase the audience viewership of your film.

In addition, we invite the AfroAnimation audience to screen the short film or trailer and vote using the poll feature in the Animation Short Film Award virtual screening room on the Summit's live platform, called Hopin. Registered Summit attendees can screen each film and vote once anytime during the 2-day Summit for one film title. The grand prize of $5,000 USD, will be given to one winner. The voting window will close at 4pm EST, 2 hours before the live voting and award ceremony on April 28th, 2022.

Audience voting will count 40% and judges voting will count 60% to determine the winner. This is an international animation short film competition and filmmakers from around the globe are invited to submit.
